I approve the recommendation to confirm the Tree Preservation Order 000127 in relation to the trees in front of Linby House, Linby Lane, Linby. Yours sincerely Councillor John Truscott Chair of Planning Gedling Borough Council Sent from my iPad On 2 Apr 2020, at 12:22, Mike Avery wrote: Dear Councillor Truscott and Mike Hill, As discussed on Monday, a decision is urgently required in relation to the attached report concerning a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) on land at Linby House, Lindby Lane. The report was due to be considered at the Planning Committee on the 25th March. In terms of Officer delegations, the Gedling constitution permits ‘’The Director within whose responsibility the matter falls shall have authority after consultation with the appropriate Chairman or ViceChairman to take all necessary decisions on all urgent matters falling within the remit of the appropriate Committee or Sub-Committee.’’ Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was not possible to hold the scheduled Planning Committee on the 25th March. If the TPO (as amended) is not confirmed before the 7th April, the order will cease to have effect and works could be undertaken to the trees, including felling. In my professional opinion, it is therefore necessary to make an urgent decision. I am therefore formally consulting you in relation to this proposed course of action. I would be grateful if you could please consider the report and provide me with any comments before the 6th April 2020. Kind regards Mike Mike Avery Assistant Director – Planning and Regeneration Gedling Borough Council Civic Centre, Arnot Hill Park Arnold, Nottingham NG5 6LU 0115 9013727
